Temporary Chazhound chat! Info inside.

Hey folks,

Since a lot of us still want to chat while our chat is down, I've set up a temporary home for Chazhound chat on the IRC server I freeform roleplay on (I know, I'm a geek, shut up :P)

For those of you new to IRC, here's the deal:

Your first step is to download an IRC client. One of the most popular nowadays is mIRC, which is free (a trial timer shows up after awhile, but it's always free). A Mac alternative I'm told is very reliable is Colloquy. There are others as well which can be found through a simple Google search. I personally use both mIRC and a Linux shell called irssi.

Once you've got the client downloaded, locate the instructions for adding a new server to the server list. I can't personally help with this unless it's mIRC, as the only client I'm familiar with (other than Linux) is mIRC. Most clients have online documentation or in-program help files for it.

The server info for Chaz's server is:

Description: LunarNet
IRC server: irc.lunarnet.org
Port: 6667

Go ahead and connect. Generally, the server's info pops up on the screen once you're connected. Once connected, go ahead and type /join #chazhound and that should connect you to the IRC chat!

Try and use the same username as your Chazhound name so that folks don't get confused.

Well, then it's definitely not working... there's a handful of us in there.

Double-check that you have the server info and channel name correct. If you misspell the channel name, it'll dump you into your very own misspelled channel!

Jess if you are using mIRC when you go to log in, click "New" when it shows the server list, add in the info that Allie put in. then when the window comes up use the /join # chazhound
