| Agreed, shelter staff aren't usually the most knowledgeable about breeds. It seems like the busier the shelter, the worse it is. And they go strictly on appearance, it seems. There are 2 puppies at the shelter where I volunteer, that are LITTERMATES but don't look anything alike. One is labeled a Newfoundland, and the other a Shar-Pei!! They are probably both Lab mixes. |
