Do you do it? I started off keeping records, but stopped pretty quickly. I think I only really have records of our first two trials... our third trial was Q-less, and I've sort of developed a habit of not even going to look at scores and times when I know we've NQ'd. I don't really want to see how bad it is if I know it was really bad, LOL. On occasion I've gone to take a little peek to make sure we really didn't Q when I think we MIGHT have been able to squeak by, but I don't write anything down when I do that.
I have records of all our Q's because of the print outs that are attached to the back of our ribbons... it tells me the SCT, our time, our points, judge name, and trial name. If we lost points for something like a refusal, that's not on there though. But if we don't Q, I don't really find it worth keeping track of. I almost always know what happened, why it was NQ, so I don't know that I need to start recording things to see any particular patterns... at least, not this early in the game. Maybe when we get into excellent the situation will be a bit different? Anyway, just curious if you guys keep records, how you keep them, and stuff. I have a word document that I downloaded somewhere and printed that out and that is what I'm using, but I was thinking about designing my own record sheets and putting them into one of those half-size binders instead.

I have a book for all trials. It's a standard notebook with a rocking cover. I buy a stupid number of books and then can't justify using them. Mine has venue, date, where trial was held, what we ran, and time with the max course time for a standard run, points we got in gambles and snookers, how we placed.. and if we NQ or were eliminated why. Now it has which dog.. but I have kept a record for every trial agility or rally we have done. Lets me know if we are having issues with one specific thing, similar errors all the time, etc.

I only keep record of the stuff that's on the sticker on the back of the ribbon. I only keep track of Qs, and any placements where we took a ribbon.
I find it important as right now we do CPE, and you need alot of legs to move up, so it helps keep track what we should be entering in. And I will do the same when we eventually start AKC, NADAC, and USDAA. And I copy everything down into a Xcel spreadsheet.

Yeah, right now we only need three legs to move up into the next class and that's pretty easy to keep track of, but when I'm in excellent and especially when we're going towards the MACH I think I'll definitely need to be keeping better track. A MACH is 20 QQs so... yeah, there will be record keeping there. I'll also need to figure out a way to keep track of MACH points, I guess... hmm...
I'm thinking I should probably start better record keeping habits NOW instead of later, LOL. I do keep all the course maps when I get them. A few trials haven't had my course maps available. *eyeroll* There were all of five people in Open so I guess they decided to save some cash and not print us any Open maps... ffff.

How does the AKC's online record keeping work where you can look up your dog's stats?
Here the AAC has a pretty nice system.. keeping track of Qs is no issue even if you didn't keep ribbons or a book.. This is Cider's.. It is updated about monthly.. Cider's AAC Achievement Page CARO rally I'm not a member.. I don't know what it looks like for their system. I write down my Qs.. but I find they aren't really the reason I keep the book. I want to know if I have a high number of lets say chute refusals.. It is written down and I can go gee maybe we need to be working on the chute. Or the gamble was this that this.. and my dog can't send 25 ft to the tire.. Or in Cider's case she is a poop machine and I have noticed a pattern of when we oops from writing down that specifically eliminating us, and having the order of classes and how we did in each written down. Unusual.. but helpful. I have a binder to go with my dog stuff.. It has a bunch of page protectors from staples in it.. class certificates in it.. all the mini versions of all levels of the rally signs.. etc.. Also have one for AAC starters, another advanced, a third for masters and one for steeplechase. I keep them and go through them when I need a course to work on..

I have a binder I take to trials with me too, it has a copy of his pedigree in it, I always print out the trial premium, my confirmation letter, and usually directions to the trial site if I'm going somewhere else. That's where my little make shift record keeping is right now, but usually I get to a trial and totally forget about it... it stays in my bag all day long!
Mine is kinda janky and empty compared to yours, LOL. I should upgrade my agility binder! AAC's page is awesome!! AKC's record keeping basically just shows you how many legs you have and under how many judges... like Auggie's looks like this right now: Agility - Awards Processed Through 07-MAY-2009 NAJ Number Qualifying Scores - 3 Number Different Judges - 2 OAJ Number Qualifying Scores - 1 Number Different Judges - 1 That's all it gives me... no other information on the Q. If you are actually a paying member the screen might be different, but I'm not sure. I just have the free "My AKC" page because... well, I'm poor and also I don't really need all the fancy online record keeping (it's mostly for breeders, I think.) Though I will say that I obsessively check My AKC for new Qs to pop up. XD

CPE has an online thing. But you have to be a member. I'll probably wait to join when I have more than one dog to run.
This is Kiba's Canine Performance Events, Inc Basically just stuff you'd find on the stickers you put on the back of the ribbon. I'll write in her sheet if she does something new, or good. Like "need more distance work", "no foot biting", etc.

I have a Binder for each dog. There is colored paper and then sheet protectors and I have my results and then my notes about the trial. I just started doing this after my last trial so currently there is only one DOCNA trial with anything on it lol. I am keeping my placing ribbons in it for the time being too, until I get enough to start a ribbon wall.
Before I started the binder I kept the little stickies on the back of the ribbons and tied placing and Q ribbons together. NADAC keeps track of my Qs or not too, but I had a regular notebook I kept things in. I really like the binder better though.

You guys are all so good. I started out with a nice notebook, brought scissors and a gluestick with me, and pasted in each course, the crosses I used, how it worked, etc. That lasted two trials.
Now, I get certificates in the mail and go, "Hey look! A new title!". I suppose I can get away with it since my trials are so limited. It's not like I need to worry about knowing if I need to move up right away.
