clipper blade coolant

My clipper blades get very hot when I use it on my dog and I can't ship clipper coolants into my country as they come in aerosoles. Any alternatives?

Multiple blades.. Change the hot one out for a cooler one.

look for a CERAMIC blade that will fit your clippers.
ceramic blades are alot more expensive but they dont get hot fast and they take a while to wear down.

either that or have multiple blades to change out for.

i also find having a high quality clipper better on the temps...those cheap clippers run hot quick, while the professional clippers tend to stay cooler longer.

Or....as a lubricant for the horse clippers I use a bit of motor oil (new) diluted with varsol. Diesel fuel can also be used, but it can be a skin irritant. Yes, as others said it's partially to cool it, but it also needs to clean and lubricate.

Actually...use baby oil, I'd try it straight first, and if it seems too thick, then it can also be diluted a little with varsol. For baby oil I'd use a small dish, dip the clippers, and let them 'drip dry' for a few seconds til the excess has dripped off.

When switching out the blades, place the hot ones on cement or a piece of ceramic tile. It will draw the heat out faster!
