Default Protective or just drive?

Well my husband left yesterday evening for his military school, he'll meet up with me in Colorado in June...and is deploying to Iraq in July. I'm so lucky to have my 2 dogs to help me through it, because lord knows my children aren't helping! Lol.

I am a little paranoid being at home by myself because pretty much everyone knows when your spouse is gone. It's not too hard to tell when one vehicle is gone for more than a week. However, Lacey has taken the whole protection roll to an entire new level. The past two evenings (I just woke up from a nasty migraine) she's been really weird acting. She never really had a lot of love for my hubby, so I don't think she's looking for him, but pretty much like clockwork, every half hour or so, she's getting off my bed, checks on the kids, goes downstairs and patrols the house, then comes back to bed...Kind of like "all quiet on the western front" attitude. She's also become a lot more (as if she wasn't already enough) vocal when someone knocks or rings the doorbell.

Kind of interesting to see this kind of change, but my shadow dog is always right there with me or checking on the kids.

She's also had a new obsession for the past week or two, and that's a tennis ball...always has that tennis ball, drops it by your throw it...she comes back for more. If you stop throwing it, she throws it herself and chases it down...rinse and repeat. She's seriously "Rain-Dog".

They know. If you're feeling anxious about him being gone, she's going to pick up on that and take extra measures to keep your place secure.
