allergic to cats

I would LOVE to own a Sphynx as I think they are the most beautiful cats. I had a calico female Cornish Rex, but I am convinced she had Sphynx in her, as she looked exactly like the cat in Austin Powers. To repeat, it isnt the hair that causes the allergies, so a hairless cat wouldnt even solve your problem.

my daughter is allergic to kitties also, but I couldn't get rid of her cat! She'd be soooo sad! We considered it at one point becuase her asthma was getting so bad and we were afraid it was from the cat. But then we moved to a dryer climate and it was just the weather/damp/mold of living on the coast. She'll still break out in welts if she snuggles too much w/ the kitties or is scratched. But nothing a little benedryl cant fix!
Ive always heard that cat allergies were mostly from the dander. Never heard about saliva!
