No, IMO, Amazon it's the best place. I would recommend B&H or Adorama

Nikon D60 | B&H Photo Video

Digital cameras, all other cameras and everything photographic from Adorama Camera

I'd also recommend that you get a camera bag to store your len(s), charger, computer hook-up cord, etc.

Yes. Definently get a bag.

I also got a flash, case for flash, extra batteries and charger for flash, extra mem card for camera, extra battery and charger for camera. I really want to get one of those tiny tripods right now for taking pics of the dogs at "eye level" - well at least for them.

You'll LOVE it!

You may want to purchase a faster lens in the future.

But get a bag and you're set!

Battery and charger should come with the camera.

What you'll need in addition to the camera/lens kit is a bag, a cloth for wiping your lens and some lens cleaner. A very important thing to keep in mind is keep the lens cleaner in a separate pocket from the camera - and keep it in a plastic bag. Trust me when I say that the tops do come off those bottles and cell phones can absorb a suprising amount of cleaner fluid.

I generally use the same cleaner I use for my glasses, so nothing too fancy. Just remember not to spray the lens itself. Spray the cloth and the clean using a circular motion starting in the middle and working your way out.
