Today I said goodbye to the dog that I've lived with my entire life. Buster was put to sleep this morning, he was thirteen years old.
I'm not sure what he was dying of, my guess is that it was just old age - his body was failing in almost every way. Late Sunday night, my mother made the decision to let him go; we could do nothing to ease his pain, and it wasn't fair to let him suffer. I was at work when he passed, he died in my mother's arms. I'll always love you, Buster. Sweet dreams, baby boy.

He must've been a great dog. But now, at least he's not suffering anymore.

I am really sorry to hear about Buster, but it was good that your Mum held him. My husband wrote me a poem when my Kayleigh died and these are the last 4 lines
And when the everlasting calm Lays my head upon your arm What better way to journey above Than in the arms of the one you love It made me feel better, hope it does you. |
