Default Belgian Shepherds

I have rescued the advertised "Belgian Shepherd". There are four varieties, of which I have totally eliminated the Malinois as a possibility.

Rosco is Blk/Tan with a large white spot on the chest. He looks a lot like a blk/tan GSD with longer hair and a gay tail, but doesn't act like any of mine. He is perhaps around 3 to 4 years old, and what I would say is a mild personality. Friendly, non-aggressive, gets along with other male dogs. He can balance well on his hind feet. Here is his profile and pics.
What do you all think?

I don't see Belgian. Looks like a long haired GSD to me.

He is gorgeous... Looks like a long haired GSD to me too...?

Are you keeping him or fostering him?

I'll try to find the appropriate home for him. He's such a sweetie.

He's been adopted by BigDogs, who is fostering him.

yes, there are four varieties of Belgian Shepherds...the Malinois, the Tervuren, the Groenendael, and the Laekenois.
The Malinois is favored by law enforcement, but is not as versatile as GSDs. They are better as attack dogs. The local sheriff's dept recently put one down because it bit the dog handler's child. I replaced it with one of my GSD pups.
He does not look like a Laekenois, so that is two out of four. The Groenendael seems to come in black, so unless someone can show me otherwise, that is out.
Which leaves the Tervuren...very similar but from what I can see, generally lighter in color.
I'll try to post some more pics of him very soon

Uh...Malinois are just as versatile as GSDs. The reason LE prefers GSDs is because the GSD is more forgiving of novice handler mistakes.

The photo showing the dog's full body looks nothing like a Belgian. The entire structure is GSD, not Belgian.

And yes, Groenendael only comes in black.

Why is it you make tons of threads trying to pass common breed, and mixed breed dogs as some rare, or not very common purebred dog? Why does it matter?
