Default Teeny in Agility Class

So I employed one of my good friends, Miss Jessica, to come take pics of Teeny during agility class. She took most of them with her camera and when she ran out of film grabbed mine. So here are a couple that she took with my camera:

Teeny saying: Hey mom, can we please start playing agility?

Hey, wait, why is Auntie Jessica holding that flashy thing?

Jumptastic!

And a vid . . . PLEASE keep in mind this is a green dog and green handler. How embarrassing

And a close-up of Teeny 'cause she's sex-ay.

Nice job!! Are you training running contacts? Or are you just running?

If you are training running contacts I would love to hear the method that is being taught!

I haven't heard the term "running contacts." Is that when they just keep running vs. stopping and waiting on the contact?

Well just running is likely going to get you into trouble if you want to compete. Esp if you have a fast or exhuberant dog.

Dekka has a 2o/2o contact style- probably the most common. Kaiden I just ran with him (never took lessons at that point and didn't know any different)

You can see Dekka's contacts here on the teeter and frame: YouTube - Dekka agility JRT

There are people teaching running contacts... very few people and I would love to hear from people who are doing it (often sounds complicated) and how well it holds up in trials on different equipment and such.

We started a two on, two off, when we first started agility. My friend and I have talked about how as Teeny gets faster it will liked become a problem with her not stopping on the contacts.

Frankly at this time I have 30 minutes a week in which to train and I need to title her in lower levels ASAP, so I haven't really focused on contacts. When I have more access to equipment (which should be in the next month) then we'll start 2 on 2 off again.

Just a warning... you are likely better of to train a running.. Its really hard to retrain a dog a behaviour that happens in the same context.

I know of many people who just run to start trailing.. I am one of those people lol. They still have have contact issues. This is why I want to learn more about running contacts.. I want to try training Kaiden that way.

Dekka, here's a video plylist on YouTube of a girl training running contacts. I haven't watched the videos, though.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Very cute pictures!
