Ilsa does that too! I think it's one of my favorite dog poses, it's so sweet!

Question - has she always had that brownish cast? I think it's neat when dogs are sometimes black, sometimes brown... just depends on the light!

Yes, she has ALWAYS had the red. In fact, when we first adopted her, it was VERY clear to me she wasn't completely black.
She's considered "seal" which means she has like, a black overcoat with red throughout. And it does depend on the light.
