Default Horses - Playing with my new lens

Oh, I'm in love with my lens. The zoom is amazing - so nice for taking shots of the horses, especially these guys who end up in your pocket if you get too close! I still need to really learn how to use it's features, but the sun came out for a couple of hours this afternoon for the first time since I got the lens, so I coudn't resist taking it for a test drive.

Tristan gets to go first, of course.

Mmm, nothing like Vermont grass in January.

I have no idea what the heck he's doing here....

So handsome!

His turnout buddy, getting off the snow after a roll.

Lil' baby tails

Why they need to make blankets for young horses out of kevlar:

One of the fillies born this summer - how beautiful is she?

The next time we get a sunny day (or hour), it's Meg's turn!

The blanket is a Rambo Wug. I've given up on buying him anything but Rambo; the initial cost chokes me a bit, but they hold up forever, and never rub him.

I have one Bucas for him that someone gave me, and it rubs him terribly all over his body because of the weird lining they use. His hair was 'crimped' all over his side, the top of his bum, his shoulders, etc. I don't put anything on him that isn't nylon lined now. My poor sensitive tank.

Beautiful! And I LOVE baby tails! They're like little whisk brooms.

And I need to get the pics up of my horses in the snow. Talk about some looks of disbelief and disgust on horses' faces............lol. I seriously think God offended them. (however, the winter Rye really came out after all the snow melted)

Haha! Tristan is such a snow bunny - bred in Canada, moved to Vermont. This is the furthest south he's ever lived! He hates the heat.

Thanks for the nice comments!
