I think you're right. He almost has a kind of Border Collie-ish look to his ears and face too . . . and the rough hair. He's darling, whatever he's made up of!

Does it really matter what he is? He is worthless to breeders without his family papers. So just love him no matter what he is.

I don't really care, I guess it's just fun to see him change and look more and more like another breed.
But he loves water and keeps trying to herd my feet, so I'm sure he has some border collie in him too...

He might. But he might not be Border Collie. Its immpossible to know. But it does look A little like a collie in the face.

He's cute! I feel the same way you do. We were told Jedi and Daisy are half golden and half lab. We love them no matter what, obviously, but you can't help but wonder what you truly have and the background that they came from!

It helps, too, when you're trying to figure out why they are doing those baffling things - like nipping heels and other herding type behaviours, lol! When you've got an idea that it's just an instinctive behaviour it's much easier to redirect it. It also gives you some ideas of what 'surprises' might be in store for you

Talk about surprises: we had our puppies at the park last night and met two other families that have golden labs. They both said that their dogs are 90 pounds!! I don't think Jedi and Daisy will be that big but it sure was surprising to hear of two others of the same breed that were so big!

the average yellow lab male can weigh around that and the female is averaged around 70.
I cant see the tail on your pup Fran very well, but it does look a bit labbish..is there a twist to the hairs on the the very tip of the tail?
