Lily - Was named by the shelter people, she'd already learned it and it really fit her, so I kept it.

Scout - Was named by first adopter after the To Kill a Mockingbird character. To be honest I really hate the name and wanted to change it to Violet which I thought fit better. Buuuuuut I couldn't break the habit of calling her Scout. And Scoutini is a pretty awesome nickname.

Zeo was named for her mask/eyeliner as a puppy. So we combined the names Zorro and Cleopatra.

Kida came with the name "Princess" and anyone who knows me knows that it wasn't staying, but Tori loved it. So we compromised and named her after the Princess Kida from Disney Atlantis since she also had white hair and blue eyes.

Kedge is an old cowboy slang for "Brisk, in good health and spirits. ex 'I am feeling pretty kedge today.'" Then I looked the word up some more and its also a nautical term meaning a small anchor, or to move along by using your small anchor as help. All three meanings seemed to make a fitting name for a good dog.

Bosker is an Australian slang word from the beginning of the 1900s, it means "very good, excellent". Again, I figured it'd make a great dog name.

Bree- Came to me via a rescue that had a very pregnant female Greyhound, who the dumpee said had gotten hooked up with a GSD. Each puppy 12 of them were given names that ment run, or race, or speed. Bree came to me with the name Breezer, and I hated it...she was already 18 weeks old though and I've always been weird about changing names so her papers said Breezer but I and everyone called her Bree.

Chad- Inkriver's Midnights Darkest hour Call name Chad: Given the name as a puppy with his breeder (my mom, he was a part of our Rockstar Litter), he was sold to a pet quality home where he was renamed Bon...() But when his aggression issue bloomed he was sent back to us and to me and I went back to calling him Chad, it fit him perfectly his attitude was so like his name sake I couldn't call him anything else.

Roxie- (*Does not have papers but she got a pretty name) Inksriver's Dance upon the moonlit bay. Roxie was born Starla, Roxie was also abused horribly in the first 5 months of her life so when she came to me I wanted to give her a new name that had absolutly nothing to do with her past. So Roxanne she became. We generally call her Roxie, But Roo, anna Banna and a few other nick names spring to mind.

Kowalski- Started out life as Jesse because well I was trying to stick with a theme at this point, I had Chad (Named after the lead guitarist of a band) and Deron (Named after lead singer of the same band) So Jesse would make him the drummer, but I felt I was dooming him for a life of mediocracy so I started fiddling with his name, he went to Leoban for a bit, but everyone was calling him Leo, so I changed it to Kowalski (named after the second Detective on the CBS Show Due South) ...and his name suits him nicely. He's offically called Wally most days, Or Waddy Bear....

Ianto- Was my pick of a litter of 8 pugs, he was a gift, but some stuff got screwed up and he was sent to someone else . He was named Chanto, at this place then he was suddenly and with no explination (I know why now) Dumped back on his breeder who called me up and asked if I still wanted him. I said yes, he came home and sense he'd been named CHanto...I had to really think to come up with something Simular. He ended up getting Name Ianto Jones after The Tea Boy on BBC's Torchwood.

Awesome names! I especially love Kedge. Beautiful dogs, too.

I was walking in Toronto and we saw a couple walking a black Mini Schnauzer. At the time we were on the waiting list for ours. We asked what they called their dog, and they said "Sophie!" and we just looooved the name soo much so we named ours Sophie LOL
