Default Few pics of the girls

Slightly overexposed but captures the "whoa!" look she seems to perpetually have.

Peanut Butter + 2 Great Danes = Awesome lickyface

-snort- I love this picture. "NYAAAAAH."

An attempt at a sweet picture. What you can't see is a teething Lyra trying to gnaw my leg off.

fin!

FINALLY! I was just about to PM you for some pics.
I cannot believe how big that little girl has gotten!

How is her training and all going?

They look great. How is Lyra's health? I wonder about her digestive problems a lot.

She's bearing down on 50lbs I think, we try and keep her on the thin side (she LOVES food, which is weird for us because Cheza was a picky eater.) They are both skinny as hell in those pictures because they'd caught a bug the week before and probly lost a few lbs...

She is still on Canidae and has firmed up... I want to keep her on that because of the essential variety of proteins really. When she's older I will put her on Fromm's like Cheza, to keep them from fighting over who gets what food and because I have a feeling she will have similar digestive issues as Cheza when she hits a year.

She's a very impulsive dog. She wants what she wants when she wants it, and to hell with anyone or anything in the way. She has already successfully cleared a 3'6" baby gate with no issues. Cheza won't even jump those.

Teaching her to "stay" has been pivotal. She is now asked to sit and stay before she comes in from outside (that's a harrrrrd one for her), before she is fed, and random times when I feel like making her work for a treat.

She sits very nicely. She will automatically sit if she wants something. She's been fully housebroken for over 2 months now, and is now getting the hang of ringing the bells to go out, so I don't have to be in the same room as her to see her go to the door and sit. She was so easy to housebreak it was a miracle.

She learns so fast it almost makes me cry lol. At her "grandparents" for Thanksgiving she was on a leash, and pulling like a train. It took 3 "stop til you don't pulls" until she got it and began to walk nicely for me.

The hardest part for us is making hand signals consistent. Rob also has issues correcting her, because we're so accustomed to the "ah-ah" noise for Cheza, and of course that doesn't apply here :P All in all it's going well. After Christmas I can likely find it in our budget to get her a vibracollar and extend her training outside of the house.

I am glad she is doing better.
And I cannot believe she can jump that baby gate! WOW.

It sounds like she is doing great--and she looks good. I didn't think she looked thin in the pics at all. my dogs respond to hand signals because I have a deaf daughter. I found it easy to train, but they can hear so they had the verbal and hand signal reinforcement together. They both have a ton of character and must be quite a sight to see in motion together.

Oh Character might as well be her middle name.

She isn't all that vocal outside of playing with Cheza, she doesn't bark much. But she GRUNTS.

Like these big, long, drawn out "ENHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" noises. If she wants something. If she's laying down. If we make her move. If I make her stay. If she isn't comfortable. She just cracks me up.
