Boarhounds???
Ok, I was reading Harry Potter and they mention Fang the boarhound, I have seen him on the movies and wanted to learn how, I searched in google for pics and found some of fang
 and some of dogs that looked like great danes   are they the same breed? I looked on http://www.dogbreedinfo.com but boarhound wasnt listed, is boarhound another name for a different breed?

Honestly that is what I thought the Pit bulls were originally called until they were found to be good fighters and started being used for that.

In the movie, a digitally enhanced Bandogge was used as Fang.
There are all sorts of Boarhounds. If you'll go to www.molosserdogs.com and do a search for boarhounds you'll turn up quite a few. Along with that, the term boarhound was also used historically to refer to any dog used to hunt boar. Filas are boarhounds by that definition.

The dog in that movie is a Neopolitan Mastiff.They have become quite popular because of the movie.

cool, i can see why, they are beautiful!
Oh and Manchesters, about the hog dogs, we have them here, sort of. To hunt wild pigs, but they are just called pig dogs and people grab whatever big dog they can find. People often think Sophie is a pig dog
