Here the vets have a shot they give--I THINK it might be called Vet-A-Log???...that stops allergic reactions for about 3 months at a clip. I was just talking with a friend on the phone, and she said that sulpher water (natural) is fine, but that any other form of sulpher internally will poison the liver????? You can also use cannola oil on the food, or give vitamin E, or use Wheat Germ Oil (expensive as hades). Hope this gives some useful suggestions!!!!! You do know that both of my breeds originated in England, huh? The Brits have the best!!!!!! |

the sulphur the original poster mentioned is a homeopathic remedy. i've never heard of it being applied topically tho, generally it's given in liquid or pellet form, orally.
most homeopathic remedies are very benign, but i wouldn't give any to a pregnant dog without consulting a homeopathic practitioner. all this is a completely different approach from nutritional supplements such as giving vitamins or various fatty acids. that being said, it's a really, really great remedy for itching and several other skin issues.
