Because I am embarrassed, to say the least.
I tried so hard to get my sister to get Puddin' Pup fixed before her first heat, but it just couldn't happen with her money situation. So, I told Sissy all the precautions she needed to take to make sure Puddin' didn't get pregnant, but, she was slack about it, Puddin' ran to the dog next door to her, and got tied to him. She had her puppies the day before yesterday. 5 girls, 2 boys. I'm surprised at the size of her litter... that's HUGE for her first (and hopefully only). I'll have pics of the litter soon. |

Its not your fault.
The best you can do now is to try and make sure the pups are placed in good homes... make sure she doesnt offer them free to good homes or anything like that. What breeds are the pups? Good Luck. |

Poodle, they are total mutts. The dog she tied with looked like a GSD, only smaller, so I am assuming that he is a mix, and Puddin' is a Shar-Pei, something or another mix.

well, your sister is the one who was responsible for the dog, not you.
I hope you find them all great homes! and I don't see anything wrong with giving pups to a good home for free... but you shouldn't advertise them that way.

Yes it is sad as I presume this was her first heat . These pups should be treated the same way as pure bred whelp would be . Socialized like mad so that they do not end up at the HS . Get her " THE " book !

You have my sympathies and you tried to do right by the dog. How many times did she get to the neighbors dog? Just once?

Yeah, just the one time.
She was careful the rest of the time but that day she was slack about it. |

Its not your fault!! I was in the same situation with my friend, who allowed her female dog to get pregnant. I told her not to, actually several people did. And what ended up happening pretty close to her due date? She "Disappeared". I think her mom might have taken her to the SPCA, or someone in the family. No way did they want a bunch of puppies at their house. AND then a couple months later, she got another female puppy (Related to the last one). But luckily she decided she couldn't care for it properly, and I took her to the rescue I volunteer at.
Its hard to try and be responsible for friends and family member's pets plus your own! I try though! Can't wait to see pics! I hope they all get good homes! You taking one? lol |
