Expecting another litter...

...but not out of Annie.

Ty is going to be siring another litter soon in cooperation with another local breeder. He has a very good quality red and sable saddleback girl with a PPD cert and a solid working pedigree. We're expecting her to come into season sometime in December or January.

We expect saddle back pups and maybe a sable, as Ty is heterozygous for both patterns.

I know a bunch of you PM'd me about pups from the last Ty x Annie litter, but said you didn't have time to get ready. I figured you same folks would like advanced warning about this litter.

I don't know anything yet about how much the pups will cost or what not, since this isn't my litter. If anyone is curious, I can keep you folks updated on it's progress!

She's 3 1/2. This will be her first litter. She's got a PPD and a BH, and will soon go SchH1. She's got so many V's and VA's in her pedigree I think I'm looking at a saw blade.

The only caveat that could kill this breeding is that her xrays are still at OFA. If they come back clear, it's ON! lol (edit- I'm not worried, all her ancestors are mostly a-normal with a few a-fast normals)

I have one question about age and breeding, because I do not know much about it. I know females must be 2 years and that makes sense. At that age she would be fully mature enough to carry a healthy litter, but why must males be 2 as well? Are their sperm not mature yet or something? I dont understand. I mean, they dont have to carry or anything. Or is it because health testing cannot be completed until age 2?

You can't health test things like hips till they are 2.

Looks like Annie won't be 2 till January and has seemingly had 2 litters?

Also, if the puppies from the last litter were to be going with AKC registration.. why are neither dog in the AKC database? Are they named something different for the AKC?
