Well, I would say experience as such, but they are pretty much the most popular breed of dog here, and Bo is 1/4 staff
![]() I know a lot about them, but not 1st hand. They are extremely loyal dogs, can be DA so need good socialisation. They're quite clownish, but I wouldn't say in a really energetic way!! They're lovely dogs all round. If you want lots of 1st hand experience I'd advise joining a UK dog forum as I can guarentee you'll speak to LOTS of staffy owners.

They're great dogs! Basically, it's a pit bull in a slightly smaller package, and I know a couple that do agility.
Aesthetically, some end up a little to bulky for my tastes, but they are really cool little dogs. I'm heavily considering getting one as my next dog (cover your ears, Paco, cover your ears). |

I know they're extremely common in shelters.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are a RARE BREED in the US.
Wonderful little dogs, big dogs in a small package. Known for their cheerful personalities and their innate love of children. |

I've never met one in real life, but I've only heard positive things about them. They're related to the breed of dog I own, so thats probably why I think they are such handsome dogs. hehe.
I've considered getting one some day, because I like how small and compact they are. |

I've only really met ONE, but you see them around showing. They're very similar to pitties, only smaller. I think they're very cute and personally they appeal to me much more than the other bully breeds. I don't know why, I think it's because they look so sweet! This guy was a big goofball and just a lover. He seemed like a really really good boy. I would love to meet more, I just think they're neat.
Dogs in shelters in the US are most likely not staffs, they're petty uncommon in the US. Pit bull type dogs in the US are generally just APBTs or Am Staffs or mixes of those two. One big thing I'd make sure you understand (which you probably do, I'm just double-checking) is that with BSL outlining 'pit bulls' this breed will fall into that category most times. So definitely check with any insurance or local BSL laws.

Maybe they're just common in my area... Even petfinder lists several in my city shelter.

One thing I do not like is that a lot of breeders are producing dogs a lot larger than they should be. I'm sorry, but I dont want no 50 pound staffy. 30 pounds is more like it. Just something I've noticed.
