I disagree, Gena.

Deaf dogs can be startled by unexpected things moreso in some ways than hearing dogs.

This is the same reason deaf dogs are not allowed to compete in AKC events.

Sorry to hear, Cheza, I know you must be disappointed.

Oh I was kind of expecting it; even though you can condition a dog not to startle as much there's always a risk.

Was just hoping. Thanks for the help along the way.

I'd look around or ask around your area for an Advanced Obedience class. The class I'm has helped me a lot prepare for Regis' CGC/TDI test(they are quite similar). They do the CGC tests there, and every once in a while half of the hour period is dedicated for prepping for a CGC or TDI test.

At the local hospital, they train and test for TDI. I'd check that also. It would be GOOD to go to a classes if you can find them!

Good luck I'm excited for Regis to take his. His CGC is at the end of the month and his TDI is in october!

My dog Princess is a TDI.
She goes to nursing homes and hospitals and makes people smile and make their day when they are down.

That sucks Cheza !!! We have a Deaf School here and I'm sure they would love a deaf dog . Get your CGC and then ask around .
