Default Does anyone else find this odd?

Ok, so I am writting my check to the petfinder jar as we speak... BUT!

I saw this one dog and the rescue just kinda struck me as weird...

why would you do that?

that's just strange...

from the site:
Quote:
Our Gentle Giants do not require much exercise or much space, they eat just a little bit more than smaller dogs, and they are the #1 apartment dogs in most cities.
oh really? but then you go on to say this:

Quote:
For example, we allow our dogs the freedom to go outside whenever they want to, and conversely, the freedom to come back inside whenever they want to. These are the same freedoms that a human has.

So, it does take a little extra effort to pay attention to what your dog is trying to communicate to you. And by doing this, your dog feels that he or she has some say so in their life and they don't give up and resign themselves that they are either “cooped up” outside or “cooped up” inside. This freedom we give them enriches their emotional needs and their spirit, and they are happier. Happier dogs live longer.

Our dogs go outside every few hours (or sooner if they want to). Yes, they frolic and play in between feeding times. You can see that in the many photos on our website. But, after about 15 to 20 minutes, they've had enough and that frolic and play gets old for them and they want to come back into their "den" (figuratively speaking), which is their house (and if you adopt from us, your house).
Quote:
Our dogs are adopted only as personal companion pets, and are not adopted to provide any form of work. In addition, we do not adopt our dogs to people who breed dogs.
I understand no breeders, I wouldn't ADOPT dog so it could be bred either... BUT the dog can't be used as a working dog? most of the dogs that visit hospitals(forget what they call them) are dogs that were adopted. It's work! and they get treated great! I've even seen dogs that are search and rescue that were adopted. If I was the dog, I would LOVE that life! better than sitting on my butt in someone kitchen while they ignore me all the time...

are you Fing serious?

Is it me or are these people really strange?

I was a couple years ago thinking I'd LOVE to rescue from that group until I read what PW posted. I wish more people knew the truth about them- It's a business to them, not a rescue place. I hope they go down in flames SOON. *sigh*

Here's some reading that may give you a taste of what GG is about..

Some of it is quite upsetting to chazzers.. as a chaz dog is stuck there, still to this day.

How horrible.

Thank you for posting this information and bringing them to light.

It is truly disgusting what they are doing...and under the guise of a rescue?

UGH!
