Default Pumpkin and Canidae?

My breeder was feeding Iams super puppy so when I got him 3 days ago I put him immediately on Canidae (only 2 meals supplemented a bit with the IAMS). I heard of Pumpkin being a solution to diarrhea but was wondering where to get it and what to look for? His stool is a bit loose right now and sometimes watery so I'd like to offer this to him temporarily.

Secondly, is it okay to feed yogurt such as 'plain' flavor to him with his food?

Finally, Canidae doesn't seem to mention it has glucosiamine in it for joint health but I'd like to start early to optimize growth and hopefully prevent long-run arthritis. Any supplment I can add? Once again, thanks everyone.

Mordy can give you the best advice on the supplements - you might take a trip to her website.

The pumpkin is the canned stuff you get at the grocery store, just be sure to get the plain pumpkin, not the pumking pie filling

Yogurt is good with the food, or even as a treat! Mine have a real passion for the vanilla, but they like the strawberry and blueberry almost as well, and will gladly eat any other flavor, although pineapple isn't one of their favorites.

look for canned pumpkin, you'll find it either in the baking aisle or with the canned goods at your grocery store. make sure it's 100% pumpkin tho, not the spiced pie filling mix.

an excellent addition to the diet, but make sure it has live cultures. good brands are brown cow, stonyfield farm, horizon organic etc.

you won't find a single kibble that contains enough of it to really have a therapeutic effect. it's pretty much a marketing gimmick.

if you want the benefits, buy a good supplement with high quality glucosamine. don't buy any products that don't tell you exactly just how much glucosamine is in there. glyco-flex 600 or glyco-flex II are really good quality products for example.
