Contest # 2: The Great Hotdog Retrieve

Here chicken, pork and "mystery meat" hotdogs are 79 cents. Thats what Oz gets and he loves them. I wouldn't even think about eating them, but he certainly gobbles them up.

Hopefully the goal is not to create a retriever-soft mouth, because Loki is mauling them, too. After a few holds, they've got some nice punctures in them. We went through 3 hot dogs tonight, and only one because she ate it. The others just started falling apart. LOL

Oh so not working but for a very different reason than I expected. Pit's initial reaction was to eat the hot dog with vigor, but after I told him to leave it, he will barely touch it anymore! I can't for the life of me get him to put a hot dog in his mouth now; he just pokes it around my room with his nose.

You guys are not going to believe me, but this is Gunnar's FIRST attempt at this trick.... I swear we didn't practice this. I broke out the camera and hot dog and went for it.



Here's the 2nd try. Handler error on this one, I confused him with bring, come, bring, then he seemd to get it better when I just tell him go get the hot dog and bring it here, lol.

I was thinking about this too! When I don't want Sierra to EAT something, I say leave it. She's REALLY good at leave it. But once told to leave it I don't think I could convince her to put the hot dog in her mouth at ALL!

I'm not even trying this one, but I can't wait to see the videos!
