Default Happy story :)

Sooo....

At our shelter we had this ADORABLE 2-3 month old border collie puppy that I loved a few weeks back. Soooo incredibly cute.

Anyways, this man and his fiance came and looked around and decided on her the other day. After watching 'my' last border collie pup get approved five times and no owner coming by to actually pick him up (what is wrong with people?) I wasn't counting on much.

Well, this guy is basically a cowboy. He drawls so bad and always wears boots and a big hat. I just thought it was amusing as his fiance is a very uppity looking young lady. Anyways... off topic.... Well, they came in every day while the pup was on hold to play with her and take her out of the kennels. They brought her all these gifts.... she got a pretty purple collar, tennis balls, toys of all sorts, treats...

I just thought it was so sweet of them to keep visiting her. Then they took her home and she was bouncing around, very excited.

Well, today I get on campus and who do I see out walking around? That same couple and their border collie pup! I should've asked what name they'd decided on. I was just soooo glad to see one of the dogs we had in the shelter out and about with its new owners that are obviously head over heels for her.

It makes it worthwhile.

Good ol' cowboys and their dogs. A friend of mine bought a farm and took in the crazy Aussie that drove the previous owners batty. He could have easily dumped her somewhere but he didn't. His other dog that he moved in with is the most well mannered dog and now he has this completely bonkers Aussie can hardly contain herself. It cracks me up though how he lets the Aussie come in the house every now and again and lay at his feet where the other dog is only aloud in the furnace room.

I love cowboys and their dogs- especially old cowboys and their dogs. I doubt you'll find a closer bond.
