A responsibly bred Corgi shouldn't have health problems due to its short legs. I think they can have back problems because they have a long back, but if you think about it, Corgis were bred to heard cattle (I think?) so they should be able to move on those short legs. lol

I'm not expert of any breed, but if you think there may be issues with your current dog, it might just be better to go to a shelter and introduce him to several dogs and see if there is some he can get along with. Mostly because you can get a confidant breed, but get a dog that isn't so confident and wouldn't get along with your dog.

Just something to think about.

oh, nope dakota, I missed that. okay, Ill go to chat room in a sec. not really worried about getting along, strider gets along with every dog hes ever met. Im more worried about it being to shy. my two jack russels would have kicked his butt before he could step on them, a shy dog might cower and get stepped on.

hey, gonna send you a pm dakotah.
also...I have read several books and a lot of online info about cattle dog, golden and labs, and most of the other breeds we are considering. and I have trained quite a few of them. but would really love to hear more from people who have experience with them, as to wether you think they are right or not for us. and like I said, ask any questions you feel are relevant. also I have contacted breed rescues for cattle dog, golden and lab. havnt heard back from any of them yet though.

OK, because like I said before, lab puppies are extremely energetic. When they're older they can usually hang around and be calm...my lab, May, is nine or ten, and she loooves to take long walks and wrestle with her "sisters" but she's happy to stay calm when she needs to, too.
