Wanna know how to fix the reactive dog?

Throw a bag of water in the dog's face.

Seriously, I was at FOHA today and adopter was visiting with a previous FOHA dog she had adopted, named Haley. I walked by them with my dog Daisy and Haley started to react to Daisy when the adopter yelled "bah" and smacked the dog in the face with a baggy of water (one of those sandwich type baggies). I'm assuming, that since she yelled "bah" that she used Barkbusters (because they're the only trainers I know of that yell "bah").

The rest of the time that Haley and the adopter were there Haley did not react. I think that woman is darn lucky that Haley hasn't associated other dogs with bad things happening to her. I am not a fan of fear-based training.

Hmmmm I wonder what her response would have been if you had picked up that bag of water, flung in her face and yelled 'BAH!!' at her?
I wonder if she would have gotten the point????

Yanno I wanna take this quote back. It probably would have been better if noludoru was there, she would have knocked some sense into that lady. lol

**corgipower says "BAH!!" and attempts to hit her with a baggy filled with water.

**Nyx grabs the bag, rips it open, corgipower gets a drenching.

**Nyx grabs corgipowers arm (because now her fight drive has been triggered.)

**corgipower is successfully trained to not use that method again.

In those situations I'm usually too dumbfounded to do anything, actually. They shock me too much. I still don't even have a coherent thing to say about it.
