Default Very Worried...

Rocky has vomitted today 3 times. The first time it was white with hair and stuff in it. The 2nd and 3rd time were like brown, at least it was in the carpet.

Both of them were a small amount.

What's going on here? Is it normal for a puppy to throw up sometimes?

I wonder if maybe he has eaten something he shouldn't have? Sometimes Carey will throw up for no reason (that I know of anyway) but she ends up being fine. You aren't missing anything he may have eaten are you?

Dogs do occasionally throw up, but 3 times in a row has me a little concerned. What is more important is if he will eat or drink and if he is acting lethargic or not???

I sure hope Rocky is feeling better! 3 times is alot...good thing it wasn't much. I also wondered how he seemed otherwise? sometimes it is just something they shouldn't have eaten...I know Addie will sometimes eat grass, throw up a little..and never seem sick at all. keep us posted, Big.

Well, guess what, guys? I got a little too worried and I took him to the vet.

Anyway, the vet said that there's nothing really wrong with him.

And he won't eat much and he is acting lethargic. My vet gave him this treat and Rocky messed with it and started eating and nibbling on it somewhat. But the vet said from what he's seen he still has some of an appetite.

They checked him out and they said he was fine. The doctor said that his stool was firm and that it seemed that it was STARTING to get a little soft and if he does develope diarrhea to give him Imodium.

Oh, and they gave him shot for his vomitting.

Right now, I'm feeding him half a can of i/d for his food... to help his stomach, I guess.

So, hopefully things'll get better...

Hope he feels better soon. If he does get the runs, give him some plain canned pumpkin. This will help harden his stool again. It's nice to know how much you care for him; you're a good dad.

You can feed him some cooked white chicken meat and a little rice, potato or sweet potato to settle his stomach. Cheaper than the I/D and actually better for him He'll really like the rice if you cook it in chicken broth.

Don't let him drink too much water all at once either. Fill his bowl up with ice then pour the water over that so it will stay good and cold and he won't be able to gulp. He may even like chewing on the ice.
