Most are fine, but as with all dogs they need to be supervised with children.

Dobes aren't for everyone - what makes you interested in a Doberman, if I may ask?

Sarahfair, beauty isn't everything unfortunately - you have to be ready to deal with the breed temperament. They are egotistical, strong-willed, territorial, intense dogs that need a special kind of owner. They need consistent training, lots of mental and physical exercise, and fair treatment.

If not everyone in your family wants a Doberman, then a Doberman is not the breed for you. To handle these dogs, you must trust them - they are exceptional judges of character, and they will take advantage of people that are afraid of them or don't trust them. Dobermans are opportunists.

Dobermans are genertally good with kids, but not all of them are. I don't trust my male around "loose" kids, as he has a very high prey drive and running, screaming children could be percieved as prey.

Dobes are frequently dog aggressive - my male has only a few playmates, as he cannot be trusted around just any dog. Dobes are also very territorial in my experience - they aren't a breed that is easygoing about strangers coming into the house unannounced.

Please please please think about your needs, and if a Doberman truly fits your lifestyle - they aren't a breed to mess around with, and can be disastrous for homes that aren't suited to them.

Wow how did I know I was backing myself into a corner to hear a speech? lol.
I mean I have looked at the breed and trust me I would research research research reseach and research somemore before I brought a "known agressive" breed in my home.
Im not looking to get another dog for along while..
Its just a dream I have always had...

Ok this is embarassing but I am horrible at telling dogs of the same breed apart, after how looking at who knows how many pictures of your two it finally clicked. I got it with this set of pics for some reason and am way to proud of that.
