I am falling more and more in love with my neighbors dog. I have talked to his owner and she doesn't really seem that interested in giving him the attention he needs, let alone the food/shelter/medical care, although she would never admit it. So, he spends 99% of his time at my house where I do all I can for him. Her loss, my gain. I just wish she would go ahead and give him to me so I don't have to worry about him roaming free all the time.
![]() I've posted pictures of him before but I got a few that I thought were really pretty. His name is Shep. ![]() ![]()

wow he's gorgeous. Have you thought about asking them if you could keep him? I know it's probably a long shot, but worth a try maybe.

WOW, what a lovely GSD! I say ask if you can keep him... maybe even offer her a bit of money to seal the deal!

I agree. It doesn't hurt to approach her about it. He looks like a sweet dog.
My neighbors have two dogs, Patches and Elway, that up until recently spent nearly every day here... For 4 years. I never spoke to the owners about giving me the dogs since they more or less live here, anyway. I wish I had asked. They seem to have moved and I don't know where my buddies are, and I worry about them.

I've talked to her before about my concerns. Other neighbors have said they have almost ran him over because he sometimes sleeps in the middle of the road. It's a out of the way country road with only about 10 houses but my stomach still churns every time I catch him in the road.
He also has been catching skunks, at least he's been sprayed by skunks lately. I told her I help with getting dogs vaccinated in case he didn't have his rabies shots and she was pretty snotty and said she has her own vet, thank you very much. ![]() Another thing is he barks at my neighbors horses. That neighbor told my husband that one day he may shoot him......All of this has been relayed to his owner yet she hasn't done anything about it. I have kind of hinted to her more than once that I would love to have him. Maybe it's time to come out and offer to buy him. Thanks guys.

I think I would approach it in such a way that you aren't saying she doesn't take care of him and should just give him to you....
Perhaps say something along the lines of how much you love having him over at your house and if she would ever consider selling him you would love to take him in. Or soemthing along those lines lol... I'm not exactly the most tactful person
