She is very nice over the phone and usually responds to emails very promptly.
The things that make me worry is 1) only 1 year health guarantee (Is that normal?) 2) So many different dog breeds? 3) Expensive Mixed breeds? ... 4) Breeds birds too? Though those birds look very healthy... I use to own a bunch of parrots O.o Heres the link Hestekinhills.com I've been warned about breeders that mix breeds, and breeders that half multiple breeds. I will be flying there to pick up my puppy, she had no objections about me coming to her house. The puppies have limited AKC papers she says. And they will have I think she said 2 shots by the time I get them. What do you think? I've already put a 50.00 reserve on a puppy so I'd get first pick. Again, she was really nice over the phone! And answers a million or more of my questions! |

Umm well not going to comment on lots of other stuff. The health guarantee is a bit short. BUT what is up with the diff pricing of the pups in the litter to pet homes? (i understand the diff pricing pet vs show)

Well for the female shibu she is 1100 because they were thinking about keeping her to show. I don't know about the other breeds, I didn't pay attention. All the Shibas are 875.
Since I'm flying up there mine will be 575 |

Yuck. Lies about their mixed breeds (will be non shedding because 1/2 poodle = lie), breeds mixes, way too many breeds, no health testing... Stay away.

Doesn't she need to do health testing to get the certificate of health?

Maybe I should ask for her vets phone number.

No health testing is done on the parents to make sure they carry no genetic diseases. Basenji's have a disease that is treatable, but fatal. Basically if they have it they must be treated for the rest of their lives. I didn't see any information on that on the site.

Vet health testing isn't good health testing. It says nothing about whether the parents have any hereditary problems... Breeders need to do some other tests for those, OFA for hips and CERF for eyes for example... A health certificate means nothing. They could breed dogs with all kind of genetic problems and you wouldn't know.
