Default What do you drive?

I know a lot of people have vans they take to trials, or SUVs. I'm not really a van or SUV person, particularly because they gas guzzle.
I want a Pontiac Vibe... the backseat folds down and leaves plenty of space for ex-pens, chairs, and at LEAST two crates. The problem is, apparently nobody wants to sell their Vibe... it is EXTREMELY hard to find one around here. =P

So - what do you guys drive to haul your pups and gear off to an agility trial? =3

I have a Ford Focus Wagon, an amazing amount of room, very affordable in fuel mileage.
A couple of years ago, my friend and I went to R.I for a trial, one e-z up, x-pens on the roof, 8 jrts in crates, plus all our stuff and dog stuff.
Cost me less than a $100.00 in fuel for the entire trip, trip was almost 10 hrs of driving EACH way and we down there for 4 days and did a fair amount of driving around plus back and forth from the trial grounds.

It has never given me an any grief and has never nickle and dimed me. I will purchase another one after this one is finished.

Wellll I drive a great big 3/4 ton extended cab ford truck. Not so good on gas as its a V10 gas engine. Very nice for pulling the horse trailers or house trailer. Can take lots of gear places

I would like one of the Mazdas, thats like the vibe. The vibe has too much road noise for Dekka (she isn't keen on car rides)

Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon here. 5-Speed, Turbo, All Wheel Drive. Great for getting to any dog sporting event in the summer, fall, winter or spring. Plenty of room to haul some huskies! I adore it.

ETA - I also sport a spay/neuter license plate holder from doghause.com

Right now I'm still in the horse show vehicle - a Silverado extended cab. I really want to get something else since I don't tow often enough to warrent it, but I've got to pay it off first. I'm hoping by next fall I can get what I really want - either a Honda CRV or a Subaru Forester.

I loved loved loved my old Tahoe, and would own another in a heartbeat if I could afford the gas. That was my favorite vehicle ever.

If weather is a factor, I noticed something when I was stranded in a mountain pass in a snowstorm . . . the only things getting through without any trouble at all were the Subarus and the Volkswagens. The 4X4s of all kinds, trucks, SUVs, etc., were all ending up on the side of the road. A 4X4 losing control was what caused me to end up sitting on the side of the road, bitterly regretting the tea I'd had for lunch, until the salt truck lumbered over the pass, lost control, and almost slid into my old 1978 280SEL, dumping enough salt out to melt the ice under my car so I could drive out
