Default ruby is a funny genius

when she wants to go out she comes over puts her paw on your knee then backs up tunrs a curcle and repeats.

shes learnt that when she does that whoever she "asks" gets up and goes to the front door to let her out...
shes very good about telling us when she needs out and because shes so good (and doesnt usually ask unless she realy wants out) we dont question as to whether she realy NEEDS to go...

untill tonight...

she was curled up on the couch next to my mum, and when she got up to get a drink dad took her spot on the couch with the blanket...
well she came and sat by me and i noticed her realy puzzling, you could hear the cogs working...and shed look at me...then look at dad then back at me...then she looked at the door and it was like a little light bulb whent on...she hopped up ears perked in her typical happy puppy pose...goes over to dad and hits him with her paw, goes back and turned in her circle and repeated...he asked if she wanted to go out and she did another circle and offered a paw...so up he gets, down the stairs to the front door and opens it...
no sooner had he stood up, ruby jumped on the couch nuzzled the blanket up climbed under it and lay down, then to just top it off, she looks over at the door where dad is just getting ready to open it and with what i swear was a big grin on her face she barks at him (she doesnt usually bark) as he opend it

i couldnt help but laugh...

he calls her dumb all the time...but tonight she got him lol

lol, im learning the strong power of this breed, ive fallen for her so hard that she has singlehandedly replaced chis as my absolutle favorite breed ive ever owned...shes just so human, you can see the cogs working, dont get me wonrg, vixie and dodger are smart, they can be taught almost anything and occasionally you can see them figuring things through..
but ruby..ruby thinks EVERYTHING through...you ask her to do something and you can see her trying to figure out what you want and combining it with why and then you can even see her pondering if she wants to do it...
i swear, creaties HAVE to be sighthound blood in there somewhere (depsite the title terrier) shes such a character!
