Default Gracie's mange is back AGAIN

I think i wasn't online a whole lot when we had these issues. i forget exactly how many times it has come back now. I finally decided (with my vet's recomendation) to have her dipped. She went through that once a week for about 8 weeks. That ended about September, but I just took her in for a booster and some flea and heartworm meds and they checked her chin because it had been kinda pinkish, here we are again. I cannot even type how much money we have spent on this issue because my husband would drop dead if he knew.

So far it is only on her chin. So I'm using the Goodwin pastey stuff for a month. But I'm going to start researching the ivermectrin meds.

Our puppy had dermodectic mange and was on ivermectin for 8 weeks. We had to give her a syringe full every morning. It did the trick. We kept the itchies down during the treatment by giving her baths with an antibiotic shampoo every 3 - 4 days. So far so good.... (knocking on wood)

Isn't there a form they can give them by mouth also? I called a vet's office in another town about it before I decided to dip Gracie.

Aw, poor girl... I don't know much about mange, but I wish you luck getting it under control so you don't have to spend much more money.

I can't even bring myself to tell my husband, although he has guessed it's coming back.

It's tough, but it's his dog too, right?

Yes but not exactly. That's a long story. He tolerates her and will feed her, play with her outside occasionally. But our last dog was OUR dog, this one is def more mine than ours.

Oh, well I hope he can understand. I mean, it's not like you can just let the mange go. Good luck telling him!
