This website has been incredibly informative and helpful, I've gotten so much useful info on what to look out for in a breeder, and to stay away from puppy mills.
I am thinking about owning an Old English Sheepdog in about a year or so. The thing is, this breed isn't common at all where I live. My encounter with the OES has been through a neighbour who's owned one for some years, a lovely dog with such a good temperament. However, he had brought his dog back from somewhere in the States and hence couldn't give me any info on a local breeder. I've checked out the OES official club website where they've listed breeders, would that be a good place to start? Does anyone have other suggestions for locating a good OES breeder? Advice much appreciated! |

Yes, contact the breeders listed on the national club website. Another thing you could do, and in my opinion, the best is visit a local dog show. Show up, watch OES show, then ask the competitors about the breed, if they will be having any litters or know of someone who might etc.

^^^I agree with Outline. Dog shows especially are a great place to find breeders. Good luck on your search!
