Default Nursing Smidgeon

As some of you may or may not know about a month ago we found a little brown Tabby kitten out in the road. A drop off . So we took her in at only 4 weeks old. She was absolutely covered in fleas and extremely skinny. She was however full of energy and life.

Probley the worst moment was when we used and ivory soap bath to help get rid of the fleas. There were so many on her tiny body the water turned that bloody brown. And then we saw exactly how boney she was.

It took two more treatments to finally get all the fleas off of her body. And also to get all the eggs and crusted blood out of her coat. On seperate occasions. After alot of time and suppliments she is finally flea free. She is also putting on weight. Her eyes are brighter and she is even more lively then when we took her in.

It just makes me smile to have her laying here on my lap purring loader than ever. And looking up at me with those bright blue eyes. It makes me cringe to thing about what could have happened to her if we hadent of taken her in.

Good for you! We want pics!

And abandoned kittens are an even worse problem that usual this year. The folks at the rescue told me that its been so warm many ferals/strays/unspayed pets have had three litters rather than the usual two . . . but those last litters were born too late . . . without human help, they don't have a chance to survive, and if they're dumped their odds are even worse than usual. So there's a glut of kittens, right when it gets cold and food becomes harder to find . . . and many people who wanted a kitten got one earlier in the year. Unfortunately, my 13 year old cat is unlikely to tolerate a small fluffy addition.
