Default Victor hurt himself

and i have no idea how. He was just fine all morning at the guild. I was packing up to go, he had been asleep on the sofa. I turned around and he was shivering and limping on his hind leg. I palpated, nothing, looking at his toes, inbetween the webbing, nothing, checked the hips, no tenderness no swelling. I ran my fingers gently down the long bones of the toes, nothing. He would bear some weight on it but not all, and again the shivering. So i started over and began checking from the top on down. AT the very point of the "knee" on his hind leg he let out a yelp. So i don't know if he cracked it againt something or maybe got his leg stuck in the sofa somehow and wrenched it. SInce he can bear weight on it, and was able to jump up in the car, i saw him use it to steer himself to the front seat before mary could get it, i decided we wiill wait until tomorrow and see how it is then before we rush off to the vet. So i gave him a baby aspirin, and made an ice pack (which i doubt he will let me put on it but i am going to try), there is not much else i can think to do. WE are suppose to be at the nursing home tonight, i was so looking forward to sharing his new jingle bell trick How in the world do you hurt yourself sleeping on a sofa?

Poor Vic . . . . Maybe he was just sleeping on it "wrong" and it will work itself out.

What Renee said, maybe he just slept on it wrong? Or maybe he got it wedged between the cushions or the back and tweaked it when he got up?

I hope it works itself out!

Awe poor guy

I agree, it could have been a cramp, it could have fallen asleep, laid on it wrong........lots of things.

I want to mention that last winter (I think) Orson started limping on his front leg for no apparent reason. Couldn't find a cut or swelling by looking. Went to the Vet and she couldn't find anything by checking him over either. She prescribed an anti inflammatory and with in a few days he was right as rain.

I found a knot right on the bone and it had a hard lump and what looked like a speck. WHen i touched that speck he darn near bit me. A lot of teeth flashed with a yelp when i pulled it out. I can't tell if it is a stinger, it is shaped more like a fang, but whatever it was it must have stung like heck.

Stinger, fang, i don't know, i would like to see it under a higher power microscope then what i have here. Must have hurt like heck. I have seen Victor ram a stob right through the skin on his leg, break off poking an inch above, and not even stop running. Something had to be awful to make him shiver like that. It was touching the bone, there is nothing else between his skin there. If he was a dog with long hair i don't think i ever would have found it. He is fine now, not favoring it at all.
