I really don't like the nylabones or the raw hides for Chip...he swallows more than chews. Nothings better than a raw bone....( not pet store bought )...let them pick off the meat and marrow outside and then it can come inside.

Yeah, mine get frozen bones as well. Meat popsicles! They love it and it takes them longer to get through it. They'll chew on them long after all the meat and tendons are gone. I buy soup knuckles at my grocery store but you can buy them from the butcher or wherever for cheaper I'm sure.

There are other brands that look like kongs. I think that's what he meant.

Saje...I do have trouble buying bones this time of the year....next fall I'm going to fill the freezer. I've got to find a " butcher"....no bones come in to regular Supermarkets.

Really? I wonder why that is? I haven't bought some for awhile so I'll keep my eye on their stock.

Try something that dissolves as they chew. I had that problem with my dog, the rawhide was breaking off and I was afraid that he would choke!

Kongs are good, but try something different too. My dog loves bully sticks. Try these:

or try

or

pigs ears/sow ears

Nylabone Galileo....I promise he won't be able to break any chunks off. As far as regualr nylabones go, you have to buy the solid hard nylon type, NOT the puppy gumabones or the clearer type nylabones as these one's wear down and break off. The hard nylon nylabones last forever.

Ok going to check on that, thanks I'll order one of those orbee toys, I've heard so much about them but I've never been able to find one... Going to check on the nylabones as well.

Oh, for the orbee ball, what size is best for a 60+ lbs golden retriever? He should get around 80ish when he's fully grown.

He has a kong, he just totally ignores it unless there is peanut butter in it

Have to agree about the orbee tuff toys. I have the bones and balls. They are the best investment I've made. I haven't had to get rid of one yet. I buy them as gifts now.
