Smile Ever see an ORANGE moon?

Last night at my daughters soccer game the kids started pointing to the sky behind us and saying look at the moon "look at the moon"! When I turned around I saw this beautiful orange moon What does an orange moon mean or why does it happen? Anyone know? All I know is it was breath taking

Oh, beautiful shot! This time of year the moon is at it's prettiest! I've seen it before, not this year, but normally it's always in the fall.

There is a saying "red sky at night, sailor's delight" which means you will have good weather, as opposed to "red sky in the morning, sailor's warning" which means bad weather.

in scientific reasoning, an orange (sometimes red, yellow and even occasionally a blue tone) is actually particles of polutions in the air.

metaphysical reasoning an orange full moon on the harvest moon (last night is the first full moon of fall) is supposed to be a sighn of a good grop.
Red would be Blood on the moon, and usually meant something bad was going to happen.

however its still absolutly stunning and you should enjoy it. these coloured moons were around before there was lots of polution around, they are caused by other particles in the air...unfortunatly with the increase of polution though has come the increase of particles meaning more coloured moons.

beautiful shot!

Red sky at night referes to when the actual SKY is red at sunset or sunrise...
morning is tale that bad weather is comming
evening means the next day will be gorgeous!
