Okay my dogs keep getting ticks. I tried all the over the counter tick meds and stuff but none of them worked. Then just last week I spent 80 dollars on K9 Advantix and just today I found two ticks on my little doberman. Anyone else got any suggestions. I'd also like to add that I live in the desert where most people don't have a problem with fleas or ticks.

Never never ever ever use OTC flea/tick meds, flea collars, medications or anything of that nature. So many animals have died from using that stuff, particularly Hartz and various other popular brands. Always buy those from a vet. We never had any luck with K9 Advantix either. Try Revolution or Frontline Plus. I always recommend Revolution because rather then regularly deworm your dog, flea/tick treat, and heartworm treat your dog, just roll it all up into one (Revolution) which also repels mosquitos and various other things as well.
