Default Smudgie.. Sanction Match ribbons
19 weeks old today.. and already has 7 ribbons and a rosette to his name..

We went to a match yesterday.. met a woman and her daughter into cockers since 1974.. Her cocker took BIS (fun match). Her daughter showed me how to stack Smudge correctly as I wasn't doing it right at all.. And offered to help me with the finer points of grooming. It was a good day.

Today he came home with 3rd place in the sporting group. He could have done better, I had on a flowy skirt and it screwed up his movement. Guess it's what fun matches are for. Now I know..

Cider wants to know if she has to share her wall or if he can have his own.. preferably in the basement..

Aww yay for Smudge! Glad to see that collar off, those darn things can leave huge collar marks and ruin how the dog's neck and shoulders look.

I love the big one, I always get the biggest ribbons from fun matches - when it comes to "real shows", however, the ribbons are always so wimpy!

How far away does this cocker lady/daughter live? They might be good people to hook up with for guidance and training, if they're close enough!

I knew collars left collar ring.. but I wasn't really concerned till I groomed him earlier this week and.. had collar ring. Most of it got shaved off.. but now I think I'm going to be a little more careful about it.. If I'd like to even fun match him some more.

A lady I know who took best of breed with her papillion in the real show today showed me her ribbons.. they really did suck in comparison.. Prettier than the bookmark style ones from the fun match.. but bleh in comparison to the ones I get at agility, haha.

They are a decent drive.. but they actually are willing to help me groom him better like at her house. They told me what needs to be worked on for him.. but I got her mom's number as she's been grooming for decades.. and I'll call in the next week to set up a time to go down there.

I'm really happy at how we did, along with making a cocker contact..
