Darn my accident-prone dogs!
ARRRGH.
It was mealtime tonight, and Ilsa was waiting by her bowl in the kitchen. Ronin dashed into the kitchen to stand by HIS bowl, slipped on a puddle of water HE slopped on the floor while getting a drink earlier, and crashed into Ilsa. Ilsa let out a scream, and limped toward me. She imitially couldn't put weight on her left shoulder, but after a minute or so was able to walk on it (limping). Within 15 minutes, the limp was so small that only I could notice it, not she's not limping but it seems liek she's still favoring that leg. I'm going to put her on crate rest for 24 hours, if she's still showing any signs of discomfort I'll take her in to the vet. ARRGH. They certainly do know how to worry their owners, don't they? 'Sides, it's just another sign that Ilsa is not a spring chicken anymore - she's got a lot of years ahead of her, but she's slowing down the teensiest bit and falling into the realm of "active maturity".

I didnt even have to see your name under the title to this thread and I thought "what did Sizzle's dogs do now???"
I hope Ilsa is feeling better. I bet it was one of those "mommy, I bumped my leg, i'll be over it in a few minutes, but I'll milk it for as long as possible" type of things

Silly dogs! At least it didn't require stitches and wasn't right before a show... *knock on wood*

Aaww, poor Ilsa!! I can't believe she's getting to 'active maturity' - sheesh, she was a youngster the first time I saw her pic, o so many years ago!

Maybe she's milking it because of Ronie's toe. Although i thought Ilsa had far more dignity than that...

I think it's a Doberman Thing.
 I have a dent in the side of my care just behind the driver's seat that is roughly the size and shape of a young doberman head. She ran into it while playing. Jeez.

Jen - Ilsa has a scar on her elbow from when she was 7 months... tripped over her own feet and fell on the sidewalk. It was the most hilarious injury she's ever gotten.
But yes - Dobermans do have a nasty habit of crashing into things!
