Just say he's a Pomeranian/Papillon mix since he very well could be. There is definitely pom but who knows if he's pure.

You could always just say Pomeranian/Mix.

I would just say that he is a Pomeranian. Obviously if someone is looking at rescue/shelter dogs they aren't expecting fully papered dogs. Just say he is most likely a poorly bred pure Pom, but no papers to back it up.

i woudl tell potential adopters hes a pom, or possible pom mix, pom is definatly the predominant breed so why not just list that first.

Don't sweat it. Most rescues have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to breeds (in my experience), so nobody will resent it if you get it wrong. Pom should be good enough.

I think he is still adorable, pom mix or not.

I know here small dogs usually get adopted pretty quickly, but It may
depend on the area and how many other small dogs are for adoption?
People also tend to pass by black dogs according to other rescuers
as well.

We usually only have small dogs and puppies for a day or two, or even a few hours around here! They're in VERY high demand. I just can't figure out why nobody wants this one! He's very quiet and sweet in the store, too.

I know a pom breeder and she told me that the standard poms with the typical brown coats have the really think cottony fur, and others, usually the blacks or multi colors have the longer silky coat. I thought I remembered reading that too when I read about them on the AKC site. Just becasue I questioned the same thing when I took the Pom from the pound to find her a good home. She looked identical to yours but she had tan feet and tan above her eyes (like a rottie coloring).
