This is Bo (Well, actually Mr. Bojangles.) One of my current fosters. The group says "pure" pom, but I'm not so sure. He might be, but an extremely poorly bred one. I could go with that, since he was abandoned running the streets, then placed in a kill-shelter. Nobody does that with a pom they paid a grand for.
Nobody wanted him 'cuz he's got a bum leg. Nobody STILL wants him, even though they don't know about the bum leg when they first look at him. What is up with that?! He's up at Petsmart every other day, and not a single person has been interested in him!Anyway, here he is-- He doesn't have a pom coat, but he also had some bad hair/skin issues when he came here. That was about 2 weeks ago. He also doesn't sound like a pom, his bark is deeper. He weighs about 11 lbs, maybe 12. Maybe he's got some Papillon in him? What do you think he is? ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll see if I can get a profile picture of him later. |

I would guess a poorly bred pom. One of my friends has one named Candy (also a rescue) andhe looks a lot like her in shape and is about the same size. She's cream though.
Actually, the majority of pet poms I see around here look nothing like a to standard pom really. Anyways, I think he's cute and I hope he finds a good home soon. I'm sure the right person will come along.

I'd say that he is just a badly bred pom.
He's adorable, and I hope he finds a great home.

Thanks
Actually, my Mom really, really, REALLY wants to keep him. But I won't let her, she's an irresponsible idiot. She even told us she would get rid of her 8 year old dachshund so she could keep him. I could rant about this forever, but I won't...I hope he gets adopted soon, too!

your right he probably is a poor bred one but as long as you love him does it matter?

Well it doesn't matter to me, obviously
But I'm not sure what to tell potential adopters. I don't want to lie and tell them that he's a "Purebred" Pomeranian or anything, You know how it is.

You can tell them "he is possibly a poorly bred pomeranian or he could be a german spitz, but since he doesn't have papers we'll never know for sure."

Posting at the same time...
His fur is nothing like a spit's, It's not double-coated or anything. He's got long fur (feathering?) on his ears and legs, too. And he's got that bug-eyed (sorry if that offends anybody...) toy dog look. Here's a picture of his face when he's panting... I'm actually a bit scared of this face sometimes. It changes so suddenly from his "Look how cute I am" Face.... Like a Tasmanian Devil. ![]() Edit: Oops, accidentally posted the wrong link there at first... If anybody saw that completely random link, please ignore it... |
