Default Kona overweight?

So many have been telling me that Kona is fat. What are your opinions?

She is definitely not fat, but it does look like she could lose a couple pounds. I would not be too concerned. If Kona is anything like my Charlie, now that it is summer and time to run, play, exercise more, those couple extra pounds will come off on their own in no time.

I miss you every day, Charlie. You were my teacher, my playmate, and my best friend. Together, we did what we set out to do, and I am so proud of us for that.

I agree with Charliesmommy.

A pic from above would be ideal though.

I agree. I think she could lose a little weight but it's not dire. :]

If she's like Tips, he looks a bit wide but you can't feel any fat over his ribs. It's odd.

I dont think she's fat she's just a very study little dog, she might could stand to lose a pound or two, but like Charliesmommy said, its summer and those will come right off...

I agree that she doesn't look bad. Pictures are always hard to judge; it's a lot better to actually put your hands on the dog. Having said that, I do keep my dog leaner than that. I think it was on this board that I read the dog's ribs should feel like the back of your hand when you run your fingers over it. I can feel distinct bones with almost no pressure.

She looks to be a bit over, but not much from the picture. If she has a football shape looking down on her and you can't feel the ribs easily, give her more exercise or cut her food back slightly.
Fergus was looking like her, a nice sturdy look, but I had to push in to feel his ribs. I cut his food back a 1/2 cup a day and he's walking a lot. He's down ten pounds and looking very fit now. I'm not as fit, but getting there, and my feet hurt.
