Alright, this is Sheba. Foxtrot lent me her account because of stuff going on with mine.
This is really hard to say. You guys remember Figgy, my Norwegian Forest Cat? He got struvite crystals. We didnt even know. He didnt tell us like he usually does. We took him to an emergency vet to catederize him so we could go to our normal vet in the morning so they could clear him out all the way. They wouldnt. The nurse just smiled and said, "Oh, no, we HAVE to knock him out to catederize him, and if you don't check him liver, he might die!" The bill was 700 bucks. My mom and I were crying our eyes out as we carried Figgy back to the van for an excruciatingly painful night. We were originally hoping he would die peacefully in the little sleep that he did get that night. He slept in the litterbox, and if we touched him, he would yowl in such a painful way.. it just broke our hearts. He makes it through the night. At first, I'm thankful, and we could take him to the vet and get him on the right track. My mom just had to make me go to school. I was begging and pleading to go to the vet, but she said that an already painful decision could make it even more painful with me being there. So, I go to school. As soon as I get him, I ask, "Where's Figgy? I want to check up on him." He.. he's dead. My mom said that his little black cat tail was wagging all the way to the very end, and he knew he was going to a better place right then. I didnt even get to say good-bye. |

I'm so sorry for you.
A few years ago, I lost 3 older cats I'd had since they were babies, and I lost them all in a year & a half's time, something I didn't think would happen. I waited until the very last minute for all of them, before deciding that keeping them with me wasn't worth the pain they were in. The first one was a surprise & the hardest. She was my youngest cat, my baby & my protector, and had always been healthy, but had developed a huge intestinal tumor in just a couple of months' time. I'm an older woman and I sat in the vets office with the tears just pouring down my face; I cried so much even the vet started crying. And I cried for weeks. I'm even tearing up as I'm writing this, and Weasel passed almost 6 yrs ago. When I lost my 2 boys over the next year, I told both of them that Weasel was waiting for them & would take care of them as she always had.I'm 50 now, and I've come to realize that even tho we love all our pets, there are certain pets that connect more deeply with our souls, in a more spiritual type of way. If I believed in reincarnation, these pets would have been our pets in our past lives, and they've come back to us again to love us & take care of us; and maybe they'll be back again. These pets are the hardest to lose.

I've been where you are and that's why I can say sincerely that I am so sorry! I lost my soul cat last year at age 21. My second cat, age 18 withered away without him.
