Arrow Have you ever seen...
a Pharaoh Hound or know someone who owns one? I am very curious in learning more about this breed and to see if this breed would be a good match with the temperment of my dog, Ox. I love the way this breed looks look, reminds me of the egyptian god, Anubis.

I've met one but he was deaf and it was only a quick pet, LOL.

He was cute and friendly though .

I've met some at shows- no pics though, sorry. I'm more partial to the Beezers though personally.

Pharaohs sure can bark!

There's one that lives on the other side of town. They are very happy with him. To me he seems a little aloof and dignified. I like my dogs to be a little silly.

That's why I like the beezers- they're more of clowns. Pharaohs are very dignified and a bit more dog aggressive. They seem a lot less concerned about people to me. I know an owner on another forum that'd be more than happy to talk to you I'm sure. He's on a pharaoh forum, I dunno the address. If you pm me I can point you to him.

i've looked up some stuff on them a few times because i do have a bit of an interest in them.

they are the oldest domesic dog known in history. i find them very regal looking. and they are a sighthound so no offleash without a good fence. their not your typical velcro dog but will adore their owner. says their brave and loyal and a great companion. likes kids, not so big into strangers,


its a very healthy breed but can be rather sensitive to medicines or insecticides,

I love Pharoahs too. A guy in my neighborhood owns one but I've never met him.

If you have the chance, go to a dog show.. you'll usually find a few there and get to talk to owners.

I've heard they are very cat-like in personality.
