Default Dixie

As some of you may know, I have a 7 year old chow/border collie mix named Dixie. When Dixie was about 9 months old, I lived with a friend who had an older dog who didn't want to share his food. It was Christmas time and my friend had gone out of town. And her older dog ate his food on the garage so Dixie wouldent bother him.

I think it was something like 9pm when I took him out there with his food and closed the door behind me. Dixie was whining and barking in the house and jumping at the door. Before I could set the food down and get the oldie setteled, Dixie had hit the dead bolt and locked me out!

I was in my pjs, and I had to go next door to use their phone. I called my boyfriend [who had a key] and he wouldent answer. So I begged my neighbor to drive me to his house. I then had to ring his door bell that late at night in my pjs. After I got my key, I arrived home to find Dixie had torn every last orniment she could reach right off the tree!

By the end of the night, I had a very annoyed neighbor, a very amused boyfriend, and a tree with the bottom 2 feet of decorations missing.

But now Dixie is a wonderful dog! Though she will never live it down!

What a great story. The trouble our loved ones can cause us, but we do love them so.
