Our beautiful rescued beagle, Pickles, who we've had for about a year, has always had a heavily marked belly and legs underneath, but it seems they've gone from pink/gray to more of a gray/black color recently. If you know what I'm talking about, is that normal as the dog ages or something else? TIA.

I have no idea, but your beagle is adorable. I rescued two beagles in November 2005.

It happens in a lot of dogs/breeds. Sometimes it is unrelated to old age, just them maturing in general.
It's normal, nothing to worry about.

My Lilly had the same thing happen at about 3-4 years old. Our vet said it was realated to aging. She wasn't my little pink puppy anymore!
