No matter what we feed to OUR DOGS OR PUT INTO OUR BODIES AS WELL NOTHING IS 100% SAFE! RAW feeding isn't guaranteed safe, canned, dry, alpo, or all organic.......And that goes for us HUMANS TO! Look what happened to our spinach and peanut butter recently NOTHING is fullproof..........

That's what I was trying to hint at albeit a little more in a subtle way.

Hence my question of, do you know where your food comes from? It's scary, what's happening, but nothing is really "safe".

This why I'm desperately saving to get a house with a big enough yard to plant my own garden and get my mom to teach me how to can/freeze. Then I'm going to continue to go down to a local butcher, who sells only local beef from smaller ranchers in the area. I've always wanted to be self-sufficent as far as food goes...if I could get enough land I would put up a windmill (old style) and some new-gen solar panels and try and wean off of the electric grid as much as possible.

I would love to do that, Zoom. Once we get a house, we would love to have our own garden and for the most part only eat what we grow.

Of course nothing is foolproof...but I found this, and thought it would be worth posting since everyone was asking about what food were / weren't on the list...

I personally feel that it's best to feed them home cooked meals. I did that for my dogs for the past 6 months now and they have become more vibrant then before. Check out this book if u wanna learn how to make wholesome meals for your dogs.

Oh, I know Jess and I'm glad you did post it ! I was just clarifying that just because someone feeds raw food or the crappiest or highest quality kibble doesn't mean one is more safer than the other..........

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that Natura's wet foods are made by Menu Foods? I would expect a company with such a good reputation to make their own foods.

That is why I feed Canidae.

Hey, the pet food companies are the ones that determine which ingredients go in the cans in the first place. Note that Natura uses only U.S. ingredients.

I don't feed Canidae because my dog wouldn't touch it.
